Job Purpose: Aramex a leading global provider of logistics and transportation solutions that include express courier delivery, freight forwarding, supply chain management, e-commerce and record management service is seeking an Air Export Agent to join our team at our Houston location.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and processing air export transactions for one or more major accounts. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that Aramex complies with all Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and all other applicable regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate must pay great attention to detail and must possess excellent customer service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive relationship with the client by ensuring excellent, timely, and proactive customer service
- Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, and customers via telephone and email.
- Take booking requests and export customer service calls.
- Ensure current buying/selling rates are set-up for every export shipment.
- Complete proper export documentation and send pre-alerts.
- Request documents from the shipper as required, this includes the power of attorney, commercial invoice, packing list, insurance certificate and SLI.
- Check the shipments in the warehouse as needed to ensure that the shipping documents correspond to the actual shipments.
- Create quotations for individual shipments, including estimating prices for the shipper and selecting transportation companies to use
- Review standard operation procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations, TSA, ISO,
- Receive, review, and process high-volume and/or complex export transactions for client(s), including booking, documentation, and billing
- Process data through the company’s system and submit shipment information to various government agencies as required
- Process bills of lading for outgoing shipments
- Track and review shipping status to ensure timely departure/delivery of freight; enter milestone data
- Ensure shipments of hazardous materials are checked and processed in accordance with all applicable regulations under the International Air Transport Association and Code of Federal Regulations
Qualifications
· Prior experience in freight forwarding / logistics environment (Preferred)
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Must have a collaborative and team player personality
· Basic English reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
· Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology.
· Hazardous Materials training in accordance with regulations.
· Knowledge of government regulations including but not limited to TSA, CBP, ITAR, and EAR
