Job Summary: Registered Nurse -
The primary responsibilities involve providing compassionate and specialized care to individuals with IDD. This includes assessing and addressing their unique healthcare needs, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for person-centered services to enhance their overall health and quality of life.
Key Job Functions:
1. Regulatory and Corporate Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations, conduct medication administration evaluations, and maintain up-to-date records to meet regulatory requirements.
2. Person-Centered Services: Foster an environment that respects individuals' choices, privacy, and confidentiality, actively engaging in their medical/care decision planning.
3. Program Standards: Oversee comprehensive health and medical services, address individual medical concerns, and maintain up-to-date records and assessments. Evaluate proposed admissions based on medical appropriateness.
4. Contacts with Others: Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication that reflects the agency's mission and values.
5. Talent Management: Support, coach, DSP’s Medical Assistants and LPNs, ensuring required training and certifications as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate exhibits conscientiousness, self-discipline, and responsibility, working effectively with general direction. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are crucial, along with the ability to work independently and handle confidential information. Basic Microsoft Office and Excel skills are required.
Education and Experience:
· Current Registered Professional Nurse license
· OPWDD DD Orientation for Registered Nurses within three months of hire
· CPR/First Aid/AED and SCIP Certification within the first six months of hire
Additional Qualifications/Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license, acceptable safe driving record (if driving is required)
· Authority and Accountability: This position indirectly supervises Medical Assistants and LPNs, facilitates meetings, and leads projects, with moderate responsibility for managing day-to-day activities within specified parameters.
