L.I.V.E.S. Direct Support Professionals (DSP/Care Providers) provide a variety of activities to adults with developmental disabilities within the community. This program is primarily a college-based setting. DSP’s help the students acclimate to the college environment, participate in classes, enjoy activities on campus, assist at internships, help with their personalized goals and much more. Working with a team, DSP’s assist program participants with their social skills, academic progress, and daily living skills. They accompany them on outings in the community such as local parks, different work environments, and so much more!

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?
- Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
- Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
- Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
- Documents all program data accurately and timely.
- Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
- Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
- Working in a team environment.
- Has a drive to help others with their personal goals
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DSP:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
- Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record
- Excellent communication skills.
- Has a willingness to learn new skills (we provide paid training).
- Possesses computer skills.
