Job Summary :
-Activity Support Specialist- FLEXIBLE HOURS!!-
ARC is seeking a compassionate and creative person to join our Residential team as an one-to-one Activity Support Specialist. As the Activity Support Specialist, you will plan daily in-house/community-based activities and provide up to 6 hours per day of one-to-one direct care supports for a disabled individual living in a staffed residential home in Keene, NH.
As a support person, the role also involves assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the overall well-being of the individual.
(Staff use their own vehicle and are reimbursed $.50 cents/mile for doing so.)
Schedule/Hours:
- Hours are Flexible - Based on what is best for the staff, the ASS can schedule up to a 6-hour block in between the hours of 8a-8p.
- Days Coverage is Needed- Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays.
Current Openings:
- Activity Support Specialist up to 24 hours per week: (Spending 1:1 time with an individual both in the community and in the home.)
- Per Diem Shifts (Per Diem staff are always welcome)
Note: The openings above are specific needs we have right now, however there's always more hours available when working in residential care settings.
Duties Include:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities and/or special needs.
- If needed assist with their personal hygiene: (bathing, grooming, and dressing.)
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules with nursing oversight.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if needed. -Assist with residential goals outlined to promote personal independence.
- Support individuals in engaging in social activities and community outings.
- Provide transportation for residents to appointments, activities, and/or errands as needed. (Staff use their own vehicle and are reimbursed mileage for doing so.)
Skills/Requirements:
- Having a big heart and a genuine interest and desire to help others build independence.
- Experience as some type of caregiver is a plus, but not required. - First aid and CPR certification preferred, but not required.
- The ability to effectively communicate with the resident's support teams.
- Must pass general background checks and have a valid driver's license. -Must have reliable registered transportation with liability auto insurance coverage.
