What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAYROLL SPECIALIST position at ARC of Rockland.?
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, is responsible for accurately processing the client, staff, and clinic payrolls and all associated data on a timely schedule. Ensures the smooth implementation of any enhancements to the payroll processing procedure. Assists Payroll Manager with all aspects of the staff payroll. Performs accounting functions. Utilizes both Kronos and ADP WFN payroll programs.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: B.A. or B.S. degree in an Accounting or business-related field OR five years of equivalent experience in computerized payroll functions. Experience with ADP WFN and Kronos a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Audits timestamps/tally sheets weekly and ensures accuracy particularly prior to transmission to payroll service.
- Reviews, cross checks and verifies Kronos reports to ensure accuracy and authenticity.
- Timely coordination of pay data and adjustment imports for payroll processing.
- Cross checks to ensure all employees have been captured in the import and balances pay data hours and adjustments with ADP output.
- Reviews all employee changes entered by HR; including salary, hours, departments and Kronos requirements, including but not limited to creating adjustment rules and setting up valid labor accounts.
- Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager handles various staff payroll adjustments; such as, manual checks, stop payments, check voids/reversals, outstanding check list, retroactive payments.
- Coordinates payroll related functions within agency; responds to all inquiries concerning payroll processing; troubleshoots as necessary.
- Assists with audit requests, employment verifications, staff inquiries, staff training and ad-hoc reporting.
- Coordinates and presents at new hire orientation and staff trainings.
- Ensures payroll checks are mailed out for delivery in a timely manner.
- Organizes and files all related payroll records.
- Prepares and distributes scheduled monthly reports as well as ad hoc/on demand reports.
- Performs related duties as requested.
