Role description:
As the Construction Manager, you will ensure the successful delivery of physical work at project site(s) by overseeing operations and construction activities. Reporting directly to the Senior Construction Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate and manage contractors, consultants, and project teams, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety policies, and quality standards. Your expertise in project and construction management will be essential in guaranteeing the efficient execution of complex heavy civil engineering projects.

- Oversee Contractor Performance: Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and consultants, ensuring that they meet project requirements and deliverables.
- Project Schedule Adherence: Ensure that contractors and consultants adhere to the project schedule, identifying and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
- Safety Compliance: Coordinate and manage all aspects related to safety, making sure that contractors comply with the client's safety policies and conducting safety assessments when required.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that the contractor's work aligns with the construction contract, project plans, specifications, and other relevant contract documents to prevent defects and deficiencies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Build trust and partnership with colleagues, client representatives, and contractor personnel through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaboration: Interface with client representatives, program managers, design-builders, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration and smooth project execution.
- Conflict Management: Manage conflicts professionally and objectively, fostering positive relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders.
- Team Management: Utilize your experience in managing large teams to ensure high team performance, morale, defined roles and responsibilities, and strong collaboration.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks, Utilities, Environmental clearances/permits, Tunnels, Rail Systems, or heavy civil works.
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive Experience: Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Construction contracting, specifically focusing on complex heavy civil engineering projects.
