Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Technician with a background in earth or environmental sciences, engineering, or technical discipline to join our established, multi-disciplinary team in our Clifton Park, New York office.
This is a full-time, entry-level opportunity for a motivated individual looking to begin or grow a career in the environmental consulting field. The position offers an opportunity to support and contribute to a wide variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Role accountabilities:
As an entry-level technician, your core duties will include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance of client site grounds (e.g., vegetation control, mowing, snow removal, etc.)
- Collection of oil/non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL), soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and remedial system compliance samples
- Conducting field tests (e.g., hydraulic, air flow/vacuum, geotechnical, etc.)
- Detailed note taking, and effective coordination and communication with project team members
- Oversight of contractors (e.g., excavation, remedial system installers, electricians, drillers, etc.)
- Oversight, implementation, operation, maintenance and monitoring of field pilot tests and remedial systems for various remediation technologies
This position requires a self-motivated and dedicated individual who possesses crucial characteristics such as attention to detail, collaborative work approach, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and a proactive attitude. The ability to take direction while thinking critically and creatively to guide projects to completion is vital for success and professional growth.
As Arcadis supports projects throughout the Northeast and the United States, there may be significant opportunity for travel, with some travel requiring hotel stays. Field work comprises almost 100% of the candidate's time. Candidates must have a good driving record, be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods, and be comfortable with performing field work at project sites impacted by hazardous substances and/or wastes, such as soil, sediment, groundwater, or surface water. Meeting the physical demands associated with field work, including lifting heavy equipment, working in a standing position for extended periods, and working alone at remote sites, is also a requirement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate or bachelor degree
- 0-2 years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour Health & Safety Training
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Prior field work experience in either an internship or on the job

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $ 44,000 – $66,000 / year. .
Salary : $66,000
