Role description:

The Global Sustainability Advisory Technical Director's goal is to define the technical solution and client delivery approach for organizational measurement and management of sustainability and ESG data, supporting regional and global clients and client teams as a recognized global subject matter expert, focusing on enterprise management of scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions aligned with global frameworks such as the GHG Protocol. As such, this role w ill facilitate strategy creation, identify and scale best practices, and support a globally connected team.

You will work horizontally across our three Global Business Areas, Mobility, Places, and Resilience, draw upon their capabilities as needed to support the global Sustainability Advisory team, and drive “pull-through” of Arcadis’ other technical services. You will support our global Sustainability Advisory go-to-market strategy, enabling profitable growth while meeting the growing demand for sustainability advisory services – all in partnership with regional leads around the world. You will be a key member of the global Sustainability Advisory leadership team.

This role will report directly to the Global Sustainability Advisory Managing Director and closely collaborate with regional Sustainability Advisory leaders, other Global Technical Directors, as well as regional sales and business area leaders across our three Global Business Areas.

This role can be performed in any Arcadis US office.

Role accountabilities:

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Define technical solutions and develop a delivery approach for enterprise-level measurement and management of sustainability and ESG data.
  • Identify priority regions for delivery of the technical solution and determines if expertise should be local or global.
  • Build staff competence and skills in solutions, identifying regional and global growth and development needs.
  • Structure technical solution growth plan and executes the plan with global and regional leadership.
  • Identify and drive innovation and development of differentiated solutions and value propositions, including digital and standardization for Sustainability Advisory.
  • Support high-profile global and regional pursuits and client delivery
  • Advise Sustainability Advisory global and regional leadership on technical solution priorities, opportunities, and needs to inform global and regional growth plans

Key Shared Accountabilities:

  • Support global Sustainability Advisory communities of practice.
  • Support identification and prioritization of Sustainability Advisory-led sponsorships, organizational partnerships, events, and other external relationship-building.
  • Support development and execution of global and regional marketing efforts to increase visibility, differentiation, and reputation for Sustainability Advisory.
  • Work alongside global and regional Sustainability Advisory leadership to evolve a go-to-market strategy for Sustainability Advisory

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, environment, sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience is required, including at least six years in sustainability, environmental, or management consulting.
  • Should have advanced leadership and people management skills, an interest in and ability to collaborate across geographies, and experience in developing and managing client-facing consulting delivery approaches.
  • Should have recognized technical expertise in sustainability measurement and management, in particular scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting aligned with global standards such as the GHG Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative, and CDP Climate Change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree, professional certification, or continuing education in a relevant sustainability discipline is preferred.

Arcadis offers benefits for full-time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401K plan, STD and LTD, and Life Insurance as well as some additional optional benefits.

Full-time positions also come with annual PTO days and at certain levels, a bonus program may apply.

The Salary range for this role is $109,000-$142,000 (of our internal ranges) for Colorado-based positions only.

The Salary Range for this role is $127,000- $165,000 for New York City-based positions only.

The Salary Range for this role is $109,000-$142,000 for Connecticut-based positions only

Other locations will vary in salary range.
