Role description:
As a Project Estimator, you will have the opportunity to use your cost estimating expertise on transportation projects in the Miami, FL area. Your goal will be to support and improve project oversight to ensure successful completion of project(s); assisting Arcadis in growing our business as well as increasing your own professional value. If you possess solid technical, organizational, and communication skills; and have a proven track record we want to speak with you.
Role accountabilities:
- Independently prepare bottoms-up and top-down cost estimates from plans/drawings and documents from conceptual stage to final design/construction documents.
- Analyze subconsultant and contractor cost proposals for reasonableness.
- Analyze subconsultant and contractor change proposals for reasonableness.
- Independently perform scope, quantity and/or unit cost reconciliations.
- Assist the project management staff in the preparation of the project budget.
- Assist the project management staff with the management of project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Assist with analysis, and report on the project key performance metrics.
- Follow appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure consistent reporting of accurate information.
- Must understand construction means and methods.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8 years of cost estimating experience
Key Attributes:
- Requires knowledge of quantity computations, unite price analyses including labor, material, equipment, overhead, and profit computations, and application of appropriate contingencies based on risk assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Contractor estimating experience is a plus.
- Experience preparing Design-Build project estimates.
- Experience preparing Operations and Maintenance estimates.
- Experience in USACE estimating format and deliverables.
- Experience preparing conceptual design level, and final construction estimates for complex major transportation projects
- Experience in similar roles/responsibilities on complex major transportation infrastructure program.
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
