What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Buyer position at ARCH Medical Solutions?
Summary:
The Junior Buyer coordinates activities involved with procuring goods. The Junior Buyer reviews requisitions, confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (This description is not all inclusive, other duties may be assigned):
- Creating new suppliers and updating existing suppliers.
- Review confirmations/invoices for accuracy in pricing and quantity
- Verifies signature authority levels on company purchases to ensure appropriate accounts and expenditures are being charged correctly.
- Procures non-inventory items and Kanban purchases, supports other procurement activities as directed by Buyer
- Issue / Process purchase orders and properly designate costs to each department. Purchase order status is kept current at all times and properly marked as to which department they should be charged to.
- Adheres to purchase order system, proper purchasing and inventory procedures at all times and keeps the inventory database current and accurate.
- Provides superb customer service to ensure customers (internal and external) have all necessary and current information.
- Oversite of vender managed tool crib
- Work with Accounting and Shipping/Receiving personnel to close out PO’s.
- Training in the use of good buying techniques and value analysis to maximize use of corporate funds
- Looks for process improvements and cost reductions on an ongoing basis
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required,
- Proficient in MS Office, strong Excel skills needed
- 2 Year associates degree in business administration or equivalent experience in purchasing, supply chain, materials or customer service is a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain good relations with suppliers and internal customers.
- Negotiating skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, the internet and Inventory Control databases utilizing MRP. Visual Manufacturing software experience a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Majority of time sitting at a workstation.
- Lifting/carrying Maximum lbs: 10
