Material Handler

Purpose:

Responsible for receiving, marking, saw cutting, storage and issuing of raw materials including round and rectangular bar stock in a variety of medical grade steels and plastics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Receiving and unloading bar stock and other raw materials from delivery trucks.

· Proficient with set up and operation of Automated Horizontal Cut-off Saw

· Preserve material identification and segregation by proper use of storage, marking and identification conventions

· Follow detailed instructions on work orders and documents to ensure correct material is issued.

· Identify, label and maintain segregation of various materials during work order issuing, staging and return

· Responsible for raw material inventory transactions in Visual Manufacturing (ERP System).

· Upon completion of work order saw or staging operations, move and stage material and documentation to the next operation of the job traveler.

· Responsible for continuously monitoring equipment. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process, the Supervisor will be notified to resolve the problem.

· Maintain a safe and organized work area and equipment by keeping area in a clean and orderly condition.

· Follows prescribed safety regulations.

· Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures.

· Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory as required.

· Packaging Finished Goods when additional help is required at end of day, month, or for vacation coverage.

· Assist in Receipt of Goods and Outside Services when additional help is required.

· Shuttle WIP back and forth from Core building to Implant Building when required.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Minimum of 1 years related experience

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to set up and operate cut-off saw to process material to Work Order requirements.

· Ability to use appropriate measuring tools (Digital caliper, Machinist square, Tape Measure)

· Ability to operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, fork truck and bar stock transport carts

· Demonstrates the ability and willingness to learn and follow instructions

· Ability to perform daily preventative maintenance

· Organized and detail oriented

· Good interpersonal skills

· Experience with inventory control databases and transactions.

Physical Demands:

· Light to moderate physical exertion required

· Lifting/carrying Maximum lbs: 50-75

· Frequent lbs: 1-50

· Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
