Job Title: Maintenance
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Position Part-time, Non-exempt
Hours: Weekends and Weekdays
Required Skills/Abilities: Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products needed. The maintenance position requires physical ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift moderate to heavy items. Must be willing and able to have a flexible working schedule. It is expected that the maintenance person will be responsible and look for what needs to be done on an “immediate need” condition and then follow up with regular duties. It is expected that the maintenance person will be pleasant to fellow staff members and parishioners. Must be willing to be part of a team effort to maintain the beauty, cleanliness and safety of our facilities.
Duties: This position is responsible for the general janitorial and maintenance care of the parish, social hall and kitchen which includes but is not limited to:
- Vacuum carpet at least weekly (and after events where food is served)
- Clean/Mop social hall floor (tile area)
- Wipe down of tables, chairs, cabinets
- Clean walls/moldings in social hall
- Wash windows and cleaning window blinds
- Clean and help organize storage rooms/areas
- Clean all surfaces/interiors of kitchen counters, stoves, ovens, refrigerator, freezer and storage space
- Follow Health Department directives
- Assist with wall and table set ups for scheduled meetings/classes/events
- Clean kitchen equipment such as pop/juice/coffee machines
- Wash/scrub kitchen floor at least weekly or as needed after kitchen usage
- Regularly clean carts and garbage cans
- Perform any maintenance repairs as directed by Facilities Manager
- Must keep a watchful eye on all persons entering the building to ensure a safe environment for all children, parishioners and staff
