RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the academic and emotional development of students
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the student handbook
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents and students
- Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other required documents
- Attend departmental and other campus meetings as directed
- Attends professional development training
- Support the educational efforts of their department in the use of digital resources and innovative teaching and learning practices that include rigorous and relevant learning experiences that are specifically designed for all-male learning.
- Be a lifelong learner of his/her practice, and have an openness to self-reflect, receive, and implement feedback on improving their teaching skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic teachings of the Catholic Church
- Strong initiative and desire to work in a highly collaborative environment.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage student behavior
- Able to communicate effectively in both reading and writing
- Skill in critical thinking and job planning
- Able to work a full school day and some weekends/evenings
- Required to work in standard classroom/office and school conditions
- Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 24 credit hours in the primary content taught or successful completion of appropriate state certification exam.
- A valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate, or 12 credit hours in education courses
- Technology Proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia presentations, and internet use for educational purposes)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Three or more years teaching high school (preferred)
- Demonstrated competency in content area and a vibrant passion for forming students
- Demonstrated proficiency in technology integration/application in content area
- Strong organizational, communication, technology and interpersonal skills
- Candidate must have a satisfactory outcome of Criminal Background Check
MENTAL/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Able to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and or equipment
- Able to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear & see and speak on a daily basis
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing & reading
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity and inclement weather.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: Starting at $44,605 and commensurate with experience and qualification
- Benefits: Full benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Retirement
