Position Summary:
The Climate Smart Origination Manager (CSOM) will be responsible to develop and execute the ADM’s regional strategy to achieve scope 3 emissions reduction targets within Strive 35 and commercial opportunities related to programs of this type. The position will serve as the NA program lead for all Climate Smart programs tributary to export
Responsibilities:
- Further build out existing CSAO programs as well as the development of new programs
- Building resource plans for the execution of the export certification and regen ag programs
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as the EMEA Director Climate Smart Ag Origination Director, sustainability team, government relations, etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships in the Climate Smart space with relevant external stakeholders.
- Provide updates to regional and local climate smart leadership teams and Regen Ag Steerco as needed
- Collaborate with internal stakeholder groups including:
- Technology: partner with VP Digital Transformation to ensure our digital / technology strategy aligns with needs around CSAO.
- Government Relations: ensure activities in Government Relations are targeted to support strategy around CSAO as it relates to relevant country specific and NA initiatives and policies.
- AS&O Origination: work with Global Trade and NA Crush management / commercial leadership to ensure origination activities are aligned with strategy, customer demand and/or identified commercial opportunities.
- Sustainability: work with relevant members of Sustainability leadership (i.e. Director of Global Sustainability Program, VP Sustainability Portfolio and Sustainability Manager NA) to ensure alignment of activities.
- Communications: partner to develop a NA focused communications and marketing strategy designed to properly inform and educate mainly external stakeholders to support commercial opportunities. Alignment with overall global and corporate messaging is required.
- Sales /Merchandiser Organization: work with relevant members of ADM’s product sales teams to ensure alignment and connectivity of the strategy, activities and capabilities of regional CSAO.
- University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance or accounting) supplemented with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in organization and people management, origination and ideally Regen Ag/Sustainability exposure.
- Professional demeanor with exceptional communication (written, verbal and presentation skills) and interpersonal skills
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in matrix and entrepreneurial environments
- Commercial experience with a business focused mindset
- Ability to influence cross functional teams and to collaborate across many different disciplines
- Shown ability to make assessments and exercise sound judgment in making decisions
- Computer proficiency with proven ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, presentation and word processing software applications within a Windows based operating environment
