ADM’s Southern Cellulose Products plant in Chattanooga, TN is a cotton linter pulp mill providing cellulose paper products to clients in the global industrial, food, pharmaceutical, and high end paper markets. The Company is actively seeking a Quality Control Lab technician for our Quality Control Laboratory.
Position Summary
The QC Lab technician will be responsible for conducting product testing and analyses on cellulose products. The QC Lab technician is responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting the Plant and regulatory standards, and has the oversight responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and quality assurance. The QC Lab technician is responsible for ensuring the production and distribution of products meets or exceeds all quality standards. The QC Lab technician also has the responsibility for communicating quality results and the transfer of quality knowledge to the team.
The successful candidate must have the flexibility/willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. This is a 12 hour rotating swing shift with 24/7 coverage. Attendance and punctuality is required. This is a contract position.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Perform all required lab tests (viscosity, brightness, dirt, moisture, fiber etc.) by adhering to documented laboratory procedures.
Accurately collect, record, and report test data while ensuring the integrity of the data.
Must be able to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the lab and troubleshoot with operations team.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and work in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.).
Collaborate with teammates and management in an effective and precise manner.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
Multitask efficiently in a high pace work environment.
Maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory environment.

Requirements:
Preferred laboratory experience and/or a 2 year degree is desirable.
A good understanding of basic chemistry, biology, physical principles, and process control a plus.

Capable of comprehending and executing SOPs.
