Perform aerodynamic simulations of Archer eVTOL aircraft using low- and mid- fidelity tools
Develop linear/non-linear aerodynamic models to help design the transition maneuver from hover to cruise for over actuated eVTOL aircraft
Contribute to the development and validation of Archer in-house aerodynamic mid-fidelity tool
Contribute to the development of Archer aerodynamic software stack
Analyze full-scale and subscale flight data to improve aerodynamic models
Support vehicle aerodynamic design through all phases of the project, from conceptual design to certification
What you need:
BS / MS / PhD in Aeronautics Engineering or related fields
4 years of experience with BS, or 2 years of experience with MS, or 0-2 years of experience with PhD modeling rotorcraft, tiltrotor, eVTOL aerodynamics
Strong understanding of fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics
Strong theoretical background in fluid mechanics and mathematics
Experience with XFoil, AVL, XRotor or similar low-fidelity aero simulation tools
Experience with mid-fidelity aero simulation tools, including potential flow, free wake, and particle wake solvers. User experience is required, developer experience is a plus
