Summary
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief of Operations, Library Buildings and Grounds, Tenant Services Division, Projects Branch, Painting Section. As a Painter, you will perform coating work on equipment, furnishings, and buildings; accomplished by standard methods and special finishing techniques including graining, marbling, and mottling using coating materials prepared in common and special methods.

You must meet the SCREEN OUT required for this position which includes: For WG-09 Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including: Applying materials so that surfaces meet texture, thickness and level requirements; Reading and applying directions that relate to the mixture, use and application of pre-coating agents, solvents, and coating material; Using painting tools and equipment (e.g., brushes, rollers, screeds, spray guns, straight edges, trowels, viscosity testers); and Using a computer to complete time and attendance and training. For WG-08 Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including: Reading and applying directions that relate to the mixture, use and application of pre-coating agents, solvents and coating materials; Using standard painting tools and equipment; and Using a computer for daily reports and updates on projects and assignments For WG-07 Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including: Assisting with preparing surfaces and supplies within residential or commercial properties; and Using a computer for simple tasks including sending emails and accessing job-related information.
