McConway & Torley is looking for a Design Engineer. In this role, you will work with a great group of people who really care about the job you do. You will be an integral member of our engineering team working to develop new and innovative products in the rail and other industries with 3-D modeling software. You will analyze your creations with state of the art simulation software and work on rapid prototyping your concepts with our own 3-D printer capabilities.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
What you’ll do:
- Evaluating and researches product performance requirements, job designs, contract drawings, etc. Develops design concept sketches
- Preparing engineering calculations and develops specifications and standards
- Preparing and directing preparation of layout and detailed drawings and schematics
- Collaborating with the Process Engineering team on product prototyping and testing
- Reviewing designs for compliance with specifications and engineering standards
- Executing field checks for division products
- May supervise assembly, installation, or repair of products in field
- Representing the voice of the customer
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, a discipline in Mechanical Engineering or a related area is strongly preferred
- At least 5 years of related Product Design or Development experience is required
- Experience with 3D modeling software (Creo preferred), and Finite Element Analysis Software (ANSYS preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence with cross- functional teams without direct authority
- Must possess a high degree of integrity and ability to handle extremely confidential and sensitive materials
- Equivalent Combination of education and experience may be considered
