Arcosa Marine is searching for a 2nd shift Safety Rover in our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant. In this role, you will be assisting with communication, implementation, monitoring and auditing of health and safety programs within Arcosa Marine. You will be providing first-aid and/or facilitating first aid treatment for employees.
Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What You Will Do

What You Will Do
- Monitor work practices and safety equipment.
- Daily and constant walk through the production area to ensure personnel are using proper PPE as required as well as all safety related activities involved in building barges.
- Act as the plant Safety Representative to detect any issue concerning to the safety and welfare of employees.
- Prepare and maintain records concerning occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer first aid to employees, if needed.
- Audit plant shop areas and contact Safety Manager to implement actions for the correction of hazardous situations to comply with OSHA, EPA, and company regulations.
- Ensure continued adherence of safety rules and procedures.
- As per Management request, support investigations concerning employee complaints about unsafe working conditions.
- Audit and maintain safety records.
- Prepare reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to workplace safety or security emergencies and issues.
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2 - 4 years of related experience at a minimum.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certified preferred.
- Some knowledge of general office practices.
- Ability to maintain accurate, organized records.
- Ability to operate commonly used office equipment, including personal computers and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to follow directions and interact effectively with plant personnel.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.
