Arcosa Tank, an Arcosa company, is searching for a talented, experienced Human Resources Professional to fill the open position of Human Resources Manager in our Dallas, TX office!
This role manages and directs activities & staff involved in developing and/or maintaining HR services, policies, programs, and processes (focus on Culture, Hiring, & Retention). Establishes functional business plans and provides for the development and alignment of HR Staff, products, programs and services to achieve organizational objectives. Ensures a safe working environment for all employees as well as supports Quality, Production & Financial Objectives.
What you’ll Do:
- Develops and administers various Human Resources strategic plans and procedures for all company personnel to include but not limited to Talent Management, Cultural Improvement, Hiring, & Retention
- Plans, organizes and directs all activities of the HR Department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Works with HR Technology vendors to oversee and maintain optimal function of the organizations internal HR information services systems. Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing information services and databases; recommends and implements solutions.
- Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; works with HR Team and develops merit pool (salary budget); monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
- Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; administers benefits to include annual enrollment activities &/or presentations and coordination with benefits broker; assists Safety Manager with Worker's Compensation, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
- Work with HR Team in MX to determine staffing needs; participates/coordinates recruitment effort for exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers within process and procedure; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews
- Ensures Corporate Matrix for job approvals and compensation are within guidelines. Obtains necessary approvals per process
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory
- Establishes HR strategic plan for the office in support of the annual objectives. Ability to analyze situations and determine root causes; respond with action plan for effective resolution
- Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends solutions to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Facilitates, measures, and improves the quality of people management
- Works with a sense of urgency; ensures timelines are met and embodies the corporate values
- Directs and manages resources to implement tactical business plans and programs. Communicate and coach HR staff to ensure growth and productivity.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
- Possess superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills
What you’ll need:
- Bachelors’ Degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Human Resources experience in the industrial manufacturing sector; knowledge and experience with LEAN Manufacturing preferred
- Ability to build strong relationships and report at all levels of the organization
- Highly motivated team player with a “can do attitude”
- PHR, SPHR designations highly desired
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to assess risk and develop Human Resource plans and programs to mitigate liability and ensure operational success
- Experience supporting a Human Resource operation with non-exempt employees in a union and/or non-union environment; successful track record with proactive programs for union avoidance and employee retention
