Arcosa Traffic Structures is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant is a highly visible and impactful role in the organization helping to analyze, interpret, communicate, monitor, predict and drive business results. This position will report to the Business Unit (BU) Controller and this individual will be accountable for key aspects of our operations in the US relating to management reporting, month-end close support, forecasting, and annual operating planning. In addition, the Accountant will support the BU Controller in documenting, monitoring, analyzing and reporting of our operations in the Traffic Division to the corporate leadership team daily, weekly and monthly.

What you’ll do:
- Assist in the month-end close process by performing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Assist internal and external audit by providing the requested information as needed
- Enhance reporting content and processes to ensure that reporting meets the business needs and is produced efficiently
- Streamline routine analysis, identify process improvement opportunities to automate and create leverage
- Prepare detailed variance analysis and partner with finance members to research issues and present findings
- Prepares financial reports for internal use at the company by collecting, analyzing, formatting and presenting information
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Two or more years of experience in Accounting, or Finance experience
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Experience with various systems and financial reporting tools (Oracle, Essbase, Salesforce, Jobscope, GL Wand, Reports Wand)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data modeling skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and be flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to interface with business leaders
- Ability to work independently while completing tasks timely to meet corporate deadlines
- Self-Starter with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Working knowledge of GAAP
Working Conditions:
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
