McConway & Torley, LLC, an Arcosa company, is a leading manufacturer of railcar coupling devices in North America. McConway & Torley is currently searching for a Core Room Supervisor to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop employees
- Manage the cost of the department
- Train the supervisors/employees on core making, cleaning and finishing procedures
- Manage continual improvement
- Maintain the department with a “5S” philosophy
- Maintain all necessary paperwork associated with the position
- Reduce/eliminate core scrap
- Assist maintenance with maintaining all core equipment
- Establish intervals of core tooling repair/cleaning
- Be professional when conducting business for the Company
- Be knowledgeable of the Company’s ISO program
- Manage core inventory
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:
High School degree or equivalent plus/or five (5) years core process experience; an undergraduate degree or equivalent (desired but optional).
Other Position Demands or Requirements:
Must be able to read and write in English; must be able to pass a pre-hire physical; must be able to multitask; must be a good communicator.
