What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager - Remote Based in Indianapolis position at Arcosa?
This position will manage all the sales activities in the designated geographic region. The Regional Sales Manager will have responsibility for all sales in the territory assigned to them regardless of the source of the material supplied to the region. They will have responsibility for pricing, sales volumes, delivery (as needed) and sales activity reports for the region. They will manage and direct all salespeople assigned to the territory. They will work closely with the regional marketing/technical team to develop leads, explore opportunities, and close deals.
- Work with the Vice President of Sales to set sales targets and goals for the region.
- Work with the marketing team to prioritize marketing activities in the region.
- Manage the activities of their sales team to grow the overall sales volume.
- Develop budgets for region sales activity by customer.
- Create a sales plan to deliver the results needed to achieve sales volume targets.
- Generate mid-month sales forecasts and enter in SharePoint.
- Work with Operations, Marketing, Logistics, and Admin support.
- Provide timely reports by markets for month end documentation.
- Ensure proper use of CRM and CMD-Insight.
- Monitor and approve all mileage, expense, and other reports for cost control.
- Coordinate sales activity with Plant Managers, the National Accounts manager, and the other affected RSMs.
- Work with logistics manager for material rate verifications.
- Monitor regional sales distribution terminals to ensure appropriate inventory volumes.
- Participate in Regional and National organizations as directed to complement marketing efforts.
- Minimum of two years of technical sales and marketing or sales management experience; or equivalent in education, training and work history required.
- Candidate should have a broad knowledge of the construction products industry.
- General business knowledge plus an understanding of the industry - products, trends, market drivers and specifications are vital.
- Complete product knowledge of lightweight aggregate and its uses.
- Knowledge of the construction process, including phases of project delivery from conception to completion.
- Ability to analyze and compare technical data and specifications.
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent motivational skills to organize their sales team to success.
- Knowledge of market conditions and competition.
- Proficient use of CRM software, such as SalesForce or NetSuites is required.
