Manager, HR Business Partner
Job Overview

This position is responsible for HR business consulting, employee relations, performance management, benefit programs, organizational development, career development, learning and development, and compliance with employment law, regulations and guidelines. Ensure team actively provides support and internal consulting to business and functional management client groups within a designated office, group of offices or business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a high level of service, knowledge and performance in the fields of:
    • Business Consulting
    • Strategic Planning – optimize talent, structure, process and culture
    • HR Data Analysis
    • Employee Relations
    • Performance Management
    • Employee support on benefit programs, policies and procedures
    • Organizational Development
  • Develop and provide leadership and management to a HR team including:
    • Select, develop, coach and motivate HR team members
    • Mentor, train and oversee the implementation of personal development plans for all direct reports
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations
    • Set individual and team goals and objectives
    • Recommend and approve appropriate training
    • Delegate authority as appropriate
    • Host regular team training and strategy meetings
    • Make salary and merit and bonus recommendations
    • Promote business ethics and Arcserve core values in all efforts
  • Investigate complex complaints, violations and conflicts
    • Collaborate as necessary with HR management to resolve appropriately.
    • Represent Arcserve in legal matters such as unemployment hearings or litigation.
  • Plan, organize, and manage all activities and participate in developing department goals and objectives.
  • Identify and assess emerging HR trends and advise on the potential impacts on the business.
  • Formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
  • Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business financial position, its plans, its culture and its competition.
  • Implement performance management and operational strategies that will prevent or minimize HR related issues and protect the company's interest with regards to employment practices and increase the value of human capital to each organization.
  • Approve Performance Improvement Plans and Termination requests.
  • Maintain employee files according to Arcserve's file retention policies.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to resolve everyday issues and develop short- and long-term HR strategies and solutions designed to increase departmental performance and efficiency aligned with Arcserve's core values.
  • Interact with managers to develop and implement specific programs and initiatives. Provide departmental metrics and regular reports on activity and performance.
  • Identify future leaders in the organization and provide them opportunities to broaden their experience and enhance their skills.
  • Develop and/or conduct training and presentations as needed.
  • Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Business Travel and Physical Demands
  • Business travel of approximately 25 percent yearly is expected for this position.
  • Office environment. No special physical demands required.
  • Seven or more years in a progressive Human Resources role.
  • Knowledge and experience of the following: HR laws and regulations, performance management processes, with specific emphasis in Employee Relations, investigations and problem solving. Experience executing strategic direction of HR that support business goals and direction.
  • General knowledge of compensation, organizational development and benefits.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Professional Human resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification or equivalent preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong consultative, influencing and strategic thinking ability.
  • Strong project management, communication, relationship building, and presentation skills are required.
