We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of Pet, Patio and Outdoor Lifestyle products to prominent retailers in the USA and Canada, has an exciting opportunity for a Production Planning Analyst to be based at the corporate headquarters in Bingham Farms, Michigan. This position will support Arden Companies & DMC (Central Home Brands).
The Production Planning Analyst will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for preparing and analyzing datasets to support our import and domestic facilities. This will include managing raw material and shipment flow, arranging for fulfillment for production schedules and customer demands, preparing and maintaining KPI reports, while working to build strong relationships with cross functional team members. The right candidate should have a passion for consumer products manufacturing and will have the drive to succeed in our high-performance culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Determine production priorities utilizing production plan, customer forecast and sales order requirements and ERP system-driven planning reports (SAP).
- Take full ownership/daily management of:
- Establish smart fulfillment plans for time sensitive, critical components to US production facilities.
- Perform detailed analysis and manage inventory to reallocate/balance distribution of raw materials/partially or fully finished product to ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
- Analysis of demand shortage exceptions and collaborative strategy development for resolve.
- Evaluation of projected excess materials and strategy development for resolve.
- Function as communication link between our domestic facilities, corporate office, and international office in multiple facets of the supply chain.
- Prepare plans and alternative strategies to meet program timelines and customer demands.
- Coordinate and communicate across multiple internal departments to problem solve and manage complex manufacturing and planning issues including material storage via Space Model and customer demand recovery.
- Optimize material flow into manufacturing facilities to ensure efficient production planning and 100% on time, complete and correct fulfillment, and shipment of orders.
- Additional assignments for dynamic business needs and professional development as delegated.
Growth Opportunities
- Develop and document new and improved processes and planning methodologies.
- Build and apply new analytical tools, audit, and progress reports. ·
- Support strategic system analytics.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Preferred in specific disciplines: Supply Chain, Production Management/Planning, Management, Manufacturing Technology, or Engineering).
- Prior experience (internships count!) in a Production Planning role at a plant or corporate level.
- Experience in manufacturing for a retail or seasonal business a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and planning production using ERP tools; preferably SAP.
- Proficient User in Microsoft Excel; v-lookups and pivots, formulas required.
- Strong strategic, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
- Ability to function in a team environment and to lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
