We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Director of Clinical Operations to join the Mountainside Medical Group Team!

What You’ll Do

The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for interfacing with the Mountainside Medical Group practices to facilitate patient and clinical staff placement in accordance with practice and staffing needs. The position will ensure operations are running effectively and efficiently. This position will oversee the clinical practice staff throughout the Mountainside Medical Group practices fostering communication and problem resolution. The overall responsibilities will be to administer quality measures, develop practice incentive program, and to act as a liaison to a clinical and provider base.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage the effectiveness of existing quality improvement activates
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage the implementation and improvement of quality patient services and compliance with professional standards
  • Refine and expand out Payor Incentive Programs to maximize income and revenue generating opportunities. Focus and pitch, to management, current and future payor incentive trends that could benefit the group
  • Manage all quality-driven value-based payment programs to ensure maximum incentive reimbursement
  • Assist in monitoring and analysis of clinical quality data; facilities assigned process improvement initiatives by using problem-solving methodology, FMEA, RCA, or Lean Six Sigma techniques
  • Lead and direct population health strategies, care coordination activities, clinical programs, and processes
  • Oversee and collaborate for all quality-driven value-based payment programs to ensure maximum incentive reimbursements  
  • Coordinate the work of clinical staff on a daily basis as needs dictate, facilitating patient placement and staffing assignments and use of resources as appropriate
  • Provide direction to clinical staff and handles employee issues as needed
  • Provide leadership for continuous development and expansion of the processes and services of the facility 
  • Mentor clinical staff and provides leadership for continuous development and empowerment of service teams and individual staff members
  • Participate in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Act as liaison to help develop relationship with providers and staff for optimal patient care/work flow
  • Focus on creating an environment of success, through team building, excellent communication, and mentoring
  • Serve as liaison with outside parties and entities, with regard to proper policies, procedures, and ensuring our standards and protocols are being followed accordingly
  • Communicate with Risk Manager as necessary
  • Maintain knowledge of State Department of Health and Joint Commission standards to assist the leadership group
  • Ensure the group and Clinical Operations maintain all Regulatory Accreditation and Certification, as required by Federal, State, Local, and Specific Agencies
  • Participate in initiatives and/or committees as requested
  • Responsible for the procurement and proper inventory of Clinical Supplies and Pharmaceuticals for the entire group
  • Other job responsibilities as deemed necessary by the VP of Physician Practices or Providers

What You’ll Bring

  • Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing required
  • Three (3) years successful leadership experience required or three (3) years similar administrative role
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with NJ Board of Nursing required
  • Active BLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire
  • Experience with patient safety best practices preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively address complaints
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment and maintain focus on customer service is essential
  • Ability to be flexible and to adjust to changing priorities as needed
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven track record of building and coaching successful teams
