Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting with new employee processing, current employee immunizations, and with employee injuries.  Review of daily screenings, follow up & return to work determination with notification of employee/supervisor.  Responsible for Division employee health file maintenance.

DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Reviews and analyzes health records of all current UT Health Tyler & division employees as well as those of prospective new employees.
  2. Administers vaccines as needed for new and current employees.
  3. Reviews and analyzes test results and interprets drug screens.
  4. Assists with employee injuries.
  5. Continually updates files and electronic data base with employee health information.
  6. Performs FIT testing

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 2 years nursing/MA experience, not required.

Skills:

  • Those associated from nursing/MA education.
  • Must have excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Data/Computer skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information

Certification and Licensure:

  • Licensure as Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Certification for MA

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work requires the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping or performing other work requiring light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on an occasional basis (up to 15% of time) and frequent walking or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work involves intermittent to occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve some contact with potentially hazardous or harmful elements in providing administrative or support services.
