Responsibilities
Our UT Health Quitman hospital is seeking an experienced Scheduler. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Radiology Department where you will be responsible for:
What You Will Be Doing:
- Makes and schedules appointment for procedures for patients in an efficient and timely manner.
- Verifies and pre-certifies insurance coverage if needed.
- Maintain productivity logs for department director.
- Books, coordinates and reschedules patients’ procedures.
- Relays necessary messages to nurse/physicians.
- Ensures a complete daily log is submitted to our billing entity.
- Enters meetings, holidays, days off, etc. as instructed by physicians’ and administrator on scheduling calendar.
- Assists in investigating billing and insurance problems as related to procedures.
- Refers all indigent or problem accounts to billing department to arrange payment agreement prior to scheduling procedures.
- Helps fill in when co-workers are out of the office.
- Performs all other duties as requested by physician or administrator.
Qualifications
So what experience are we looking for in our Scheduler?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prefer two to three years’ work experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling desirable
- Computer experience necessary
