Schedule: This position works Sunday through Thursday 8AM-5PM

Position Summary:
The Marine Operations Coordinator works closely with all departments in coordinating crew and company objectives and schedules. The ideal candidate would be organized and efficient with great attention to detail. This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance and ensuring back-end processes of the Marine Operations department run smoothly.

Essential Job Functions
Scheduling

  • Manage, input, and maintain weekly schedule for Marine Operations Crew in Kronos
  • Collaborates with all departments to accurately maintain calendars for each boat detailing all boat movements
  • Arranges fueling appointments, drill schedules, department meetings and more
  • Ensures staffing needs are met in accordance with Coast Guard regulations

Administrative

  • Ensures timesheet accuracy for all marine operations crew biweekly
  • Coordinates pre-employment drug tests with new hires
  • Maintains communication with new hires prior to start date
  • Assists management in preparation of orientation and training materials
  • Reviews department materials created by others and offers suggestions for improvement

Quality Assurance

  • Monitors end of day forms from captains and crew
  • Reports any problems, accidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment trouble relayed through end of day forms to the necessary department
  • Monitors customer satisfaction in relation to Marine Operations crew through online reviews
  • Collaborates with sales department to ensure that crew receive the necessary information to provide clients with consistently excellent products and service
  • Conducts regular analysis of processes and procedures, providing feedback to management

Other Duties

  • Meets regularly with management to report and organize strategic plans for team objectives
  • Presents progress and results of tasks to management and other interested parties
  • Fills in for management in their absence, coordinating schedules, and managing inventory, and supplies
  • Performs other relevant duties as required

Job Requirements and Qualifications: *

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Possesses a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 2 Years experience working in an office setting or 2 years experience in the marine industry
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug test from the United States Coast Guard and maintain good standing in the Argosy drug test program
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check
  • Ability to speak, read and write in clear English
  • Possesses effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to competently perform basic math functions- add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Must possess (or have the ability to acquire within 14 days of hire) a Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (Class 12) Permit – (course completed)
  • Must possess (or have the ability to acquire within 14 days of hire) a Washington State Food Workers Permit

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer equipment
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to navigate uneven and shifting surfaces including but not limited to vessel decks, docks, piers, dirt paths and clamshell paths
  • Ability to swim
  • Ability to step down or leap from a slow-moving platform, with a 3-foot step
  • Ability to climb over barriers 3 ½ feet high
  • Ability to stoop and crouch around small spaces
  • Possess clear, loud voice communications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
