We are looking for a Packaging Engineer who will be responsible for efficient product packaging and ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping conditions. They test, analyze, and select materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness. The Packaging Engineer evaluates the effectiveness of new package designs and ensures compliance with all requirements and regulations. The ideal candidate should have outstanding knowledge and understanding various processes involved in packaging and at least 2-4 years of experience is required. A bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, packaging engineering or supply chain is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
  • Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of new package designs and ensure compliance with all requirements and regulations.
  • Coordinate with operations for storage and ergonomic considerations.
  • Participate in new product introduction teams, to deliver new products to market.
  • Coordinate with assembly planning for line-side storage and ergonomic considerations.
  • Coordinate with vendors for process improvements and purchasing.
  • Manage repair/maintenance of returnable packaging.
  • Resolve issues reported by third party logistics or carriers.
  • Perform containerization analysis and quoting.

 Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, supply chain or  packaging engineering required.  
  • At least 2-4 years of experience is required.

Required Skills:

-(Creo or other similar electronic drafting experience is required Creo Required)
-Pack assist
-Knowledge of packaging materials
-Knowledge pf packaging suppliers

Desired Skills:

- APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification desired

Responsibilities

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
    • Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
    • Review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
    • Review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
    • Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
    • Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
    • Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.

 Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 10 years experience required.


Required Skills:

  • Expert ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).



Desired Skills:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
