Projects are typically in excess of $40 million dollars with significant site impact.
Minimum Requirements
Four (4) years experience must be nuclear related.
In lieu of bachelor degree, combination of education and experience in project management or other job related area must equal nine (9) years, of which (4) four years must be nuclear related.
The above meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI/ANS 3.1, 1978, 4.2.4.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience.
Certification in project management.
Nuclear requirement:
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.
Major Accountabilities
Provides contract administration, interface, and problem resolution with vendors supporting Palo Verde modifications.
2) Establishes and continually monitors work priorities for the team to ensure maximum utilization of manpower and resources.
3) Implements and maintains effective planning and operating practices to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the department in order to meet business plan objectives.
4) Responsible for staffing, salary administration and performance management of personnel.
Improves employee performance through performance monitoring, coaching, training, formal discipline and performance reviews.
5) Monitors expenditures of area of responsibility ensuring prudent use of company money and resources.
Controls costs to achieve established budget which requires oversight of multiple project factors such as project value, type and risks.
6) Supports and often leads project activities associated with the execution of projects as integrated work activities within the Palo Verde outages and pre-specified on-line schedules.
7) Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepares and completes action plans; implements production, productivity, project quality and project risk and customer service standards; resolves problems and issues; completes audits; identifies trends; determines system improvements; implements change.
8) Supports and leads technical studies and site efforts associated with proper project selection, funding and initiation through various Palo Verde approval committees.
Assists project sponsor in the definition and control of assigned project scope.
Facilitates efforts associated with project team formation and resolution of issues that arise in the course of the project.
9) Interfaces within Engineering and across organization boundaries to resolve technical and administrative issues.
