The full-time Development Coordinator will provide professional grant writing and project management
support for the ASU Art Museum's development and revenue raising activities. The position will oversee
the development activities relating to corporate, foundation & government support and help with
membership administration. The Development Coordinator will act as liaison to external and internal
constituencies including donors, members, alumni, funding agencies, ASU Foundation, Herberger
Institute and other partner organizations. The position may require work during evenings, weekends and
special events as needed.

Essential Duties
- Write and submit grant proposals, fundraising-related writing projects, and reports on a timely basis as outlined on the organizational grant calendar
- Manage strategic goals, research, solicit information for grant proposals from staff counterparts, and organize the Museum grant funding activities. Track and manage correspondence, interim and final reports and administrative functions for grants.
- Provide professional, administrative and clerical support for development activities for grants, gift processing, acknowledgements and member upkeep.
- Communicate as needed with ASU, Herberger Institute and Foundation leadership and staff for grant requirements.
- Work with the ASU Foundation donor system to input, extract and analyze prospect and donor grant information.
- Manage membership and donor administration including renewals, correspondence, deposits and other communication
- Assist with department’s events as part of the development office
- Prioritize and arrange meetings, conferences and appointments related to grants funding
- Assist with income budget preparation and reporting
- May supervise assigned staff or student workers
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Relations or closely related field and 2 years previous experience with event planning and coordinating; OR, Four years of public relations and event planning/coordinating experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Demonstrated knowledge of principles and techniques of development/fundraising for nonprofits
- Experience with museum grant writing preferred
- Experience with the ASU Foundation and its donor database
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic budgeting principles
- Experience in being a team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies
- Experience in work that requires strong organizational skills, writing and attention to detail
- Experience in composing confidential correspondences and communications
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Experience in establishing and maintaining positive public relations and effective working relationships
- Experience in planning and implementing special events
- Experience in working effectively in an environment subject to multiple and often competing demands requiring strong time management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and special events
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
