Arlington High School is looking for an enthusiastic educator to join our team as a Special Educator for the 2022- 2023 School Year. Emphasis is on Math, Science and Academic Support, though subect knowledge and experience in all curricular areas is helpful. Co-teaching experience as well as experience working with ASD is preferred.

Job Goal:
Responsible for planning instruction and curriculum modifications for students receiving special education services that allow students to meet high standards and success in inclusion settings. The focus of this position will be supporting co-teaching and inclusion in Math and Science classes, but may also support other subjects.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct instruction to students, both within the general education classroom and outside the general education classroom in small group instruction or academic support. This includes planning and teaching along with the general classroom teacher in an inclusive general education setting.
2. Plan with general education staff and modify general ed curriculum, along with creating and delivering specially designed instruction.
3. Consult with general education staff.
4. Monitor student progress in general education program.
5. Develop IEP, determine goals and objectives.
6. Prepare progress reports.
7. Organize and chair annual team meetings.
8. Administer testing for evaluations and end of term/end of year reporting.
9. Maintain contact with parents.
10. Attend building learning team meetings.
11. Direct the work of paraprofessionals.
12. Perform other tasks as assigned by Building Principal and/or Special Education Administrator.
