Essential Job Duties:
- Finalize and file briefs in various state and federal courts.
- Maintain calendar deadlines and appointments for dozens of cases.
- Schedule and notice depositions.
- Process documents and maintain organized digital files for dozens of cases.
- Prepare and file notices of appearance and applications for pro hac vice admission.
- Other projects assigned by attorneys or management.
- Occasional travel (about one week every six months).
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or paralegal certificate (preferred).
- 2 years’ experience at a civil law firm (preferred).
- Familiarity with federal and state court practices and procedures.
- Excellent oral, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Mastery of the English language (verbal and written) including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to work independently and as a team, effectively and efficiently without significant supervision.
- Ability to track, prioritize, and complete multiple concurrent assignments with precision and on time.
- Thrive on obtaining favorable results in a fast-paced and challenging law firm environment.
- Exhibit professionalism by adhering to all firm policies, including attendance guidelines and confidentiality requirements.
- Willing to work extended hours as needed to accommodate caseload demands.
- Touch-type at least 55 words per minute.
- Proficiency with Office 365 suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with the use of contemporary technology in law practice. SharePoint, OneDrive, and TEAMS experience preferred but not required.
