What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse, Pre-Op position at Arreglocs?

Note: We have also multiple positions of RN's in Seattle, WA like RN LTAC, Rehab, Sub Acute, Case manager, Onco, Home Health

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments of patients scheduled for surgery, including reviewing medical history, performing physical assessments, and assessing readiness for anesthesia and surgery.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, including preoperative instructions, expectations for surgery day, and postoperative care and recovery.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team to develop individualized care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by administering preoperative medications, starting intravenous (IV) lines, and ensuring that all necessary preoperative tests and procedures are completed.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation, and other relevant parameters before, during, and after surgical procedures, identifying and addressing any deviations from baseline.
  • Assist with positioning and draping patients for surgery, ensuring proper patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing concerns and alleviating anxiety related to surgery.
  • Document preoperative assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) or other documentation systems.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, regulatory standards, and facility policies to maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of preoperative care and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in PreOp
  • RN License
  • State license of WA
  • BLS from AHA
  • COVID
