ARRM is a nonprofit organization of nearly 200 provider organizations dedicated to leading the advancement of home and community-based services supporting people with disabilities.
Our mission is to advocate for, inform and support Minnesota organizations serving people in the disability and mental health communities.
Position Summary
The Manager of Communications reports to the Senior Director of Member Services and supports the overall communications needs of the whole organization. The Manager of Communications executes the overall internal and external communication needs, maintains the ARRM brand, leads social media posting, engages the media when needed.
Position Responsibilities
External communications
· Participate in the development and then implement the communications plan.
· Track performance of plan against goals for the year, reporting progress.
· Maintain ARRM brand.
· Educate the general public about what ARRM is and its value to the disability industry and the community in general (draft op eds, connect reports to ARRM members).
· Educate prospective members about the value of ARRM to assist in recruitment and retention efforts.
· Assist the ARRM team by preparing testimony for members presenting at legislative hearings and/or meetings with legislators.
Internal communications
· Develop and maintain communication vehicles (newsletters, brochures, annual reports, direct mail, presentations, website, event notices) for targeted audiences, including ARRM prospective members.
· Manage ARRM.org website.
· Assist with the ARRM social media presence and channels.
· Maintain relationships with key members of the media.
· Support member recruitment and retention efforts along with the Manager of Member Experience.
Events
· Support event planning and promotion.
· Develop event supporting materials and platforms to support event goals and experience.
· Implement the ARRM sponsorship plan to enhance ARRM’s non-dues revenue goals.
· Identify new sponsorship prospects under the direction of the Director of Member Services.
Membership
· Maintain recruitment and retention materials to assist in broadening ARRM’s membership.
· Maintain on-boarding materials for new members.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in communications related field and at least three years of relevant experience.
· Proficiency in using Higher Logic Thrive which is a membership focused platform. providing a one-stop-shop for members to receive information and engage with others.
· Experience creating and executing internal and external communications plans and strategies for connecting with diverse audiences.
· Experience working with Excel, Google Forms, or similar data management tools.
· Knowledge of marketing and public relations best practices.
· Strong writing and public speaking skills.
· Experience working in the health and human services sector.
· Experience with utilizing social media platforms.
· Experience working with membership database (ex: iMIS).
· Direct experience working with people with disabilities (desired).
