What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerial Ground Hand position at Arrowhead Construction?
Position Overview
Arrowhead Construction – We have an immediate opening for a Ground Hand to help our Aerial Lineman in Northeast Arkansas. This is an entry level position, with training provided as needed. As a Ground Hand, you will assist the Aerial Lineman with manual labor type duties. This includes but is not limited to:
Essential Functions/Duties and Tasks:
· Getting tools ready
· Ensuring safety of the lineman, looking out for anything that could impede the safety of yourself or the lineman – includes PPE, proper cones, spacing and traffic signs
· Driving bucket truck
· Pull fiber through conduit, or by lashing
· Unreel, pull and string wire and cable from pole to pole
· Work with hand tools
· Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment and tools
· Control passing traffic in/near work area
· Provide assistance from ground to lineman
· May occasionally work from bucket of aerial truck or use a ladder
· Learning from lineman, with attention to what the lineman’s day to day duties are
· Comply with all health and safety rules, including OSHA standards
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
· Must have a current, valid driver’s license
· Dependable transportation to our office in Brookland, AR
· Must have work boots
· Be able to pass a background check
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, walk, lift overhead
· Must be able to work at heights – on ladder or in bucket truck
· Must be able to lift 70 pounds
· Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions/work in rough terrain
· Must be able to work on your feet all day
Education/Work Experience
· A high school diploma or equivalent
· CDL is a plus, but not required
· Experience in underground/aerial utilities preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
