Job Description
Medical Transportation Billing Company located in Upper Macungie Township, an Allentown suburb, is seeking qualified individuals to staff its billing and coding department, both on-site and/or remotely. Remotely would include anywhere from the continental United States. You MUST have ambulance billing and coding experience as well as Zoll RescueNet Billing Software experience to be considered for remote employment. It is preferred that on-site billing candidates have ambulance billing and coding experience as well, but will train for the position. Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) is preferred.
Description
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Billing Specialist performs a wide variety of duties including reading and transferring Patient Care Report (PCR) information, preparing ambulance claims, determining medical necessity, attaching ICD-10 codes, researching missing information, communicating with patients and medical facilities and communicating with the corporate billing office.
Duties
- Prepare ambulance claims using PCR’s and other medical documents in the Zoll RescueNet billing software
- Utilize Zoll Billing Pro to verify claims and research missing information
- Communicate with patients and medical facilities
- Responsible for completing an average of 11 accounts per hour.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to bill approximately 85 claims per day
- Proficient use of Internet Explorer and ability to navigate websites in multiple windows
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word

Required Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ambulance Transportation Billing and Coding Experience
- Zoll RescueNet Billing Software experience preferred
- CAC Certification preferred

The billing process includes claims submission to federal and state programs, commercial insurance carrier and direct to patient, medical records management, data import and entry, insurance verification, posting and aged claims follow-up and client relations and reporting.
