Job Title: Windows Server Upgrade Consultant
Location: On-site in Butler, PA
Job Type: 1 year consulting engagement (with possibility of extension or full time employment)
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Windows Server Upgrade Consultant to upgrade all of our Windows 2012 servers. With over 1600 apps and infrastructure servers, this is a significant undertaking that requires someone with extensive experience in server upgrades and migrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Windows server administration, as well as experience managing large-scale projects.
Job Description:
The IT Windows Administrator will coordinate/participate in the design-installation of the IT Server projects and help to provide base support (Break-Fix-Moves-Adds-Changes)
. The IT Windows Administrator will design, configure, coordinate, and participate in the installation of all IT Server infrastructure equipment (hosts, servers, storage, appliances, etc.).
This position requires lifting and installation of server infrastructure equipment (hosts, servers, appliances, etc.) in the datacenters.
Coordinate server upgrades adhering all change control requirements and communicate these changes to the business.
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
This position also requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum three years’ experience with Windows server administration.
Experience with installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
Experience with networks including LAN/WAN, DNS/DHCP and wireless.
Familiarity / experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter administration.
Experience with troubleshooting systems, problem isolation and formulating solutions.
Monitoring system performance and provide potential solutions to management.
Windows print administration (including third party vendor utilities like PaperCut & SafeQ).
Windows administration via PowerShell & command line scripting.
Data backup & recovery via Commvault & Veeam
Project management and planning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
Working knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
Working knowledge of security systems, CyberArk, Thycotic, McAfee, and Qualys.
Windows-based virtualization via Hyper-V and Nutanix.
Ability to create scripts in PowerShell and similar languages.
Familiarity with backups (Veeam, Backup Exec, Commvault) and backup concepts for on premise and cloud systems.
A good understanding for remote network concepts, proxy server and VPN systems.
