Job Title: Windows Server Upgrade Consultant

Location: On-site in Butler, PA

Job Type: 1 year consulting engagement (with possibility of extension or full time employment)

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Windows Server Upgrade Consultant to upgrade all of our Windows 2012 servers. With over 1600 apps and infrastructure servers, this is a significant undertaking that requires someone with extensive experience in server upgrades and migrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Windows server administration, as well as experience managing large-scale projects.

Job Description: 

• The IT Windows Administrator will coordinate/participate in the design-installation of the IT Server projects and help to provide base support (Break-Fix-Moves-Adds-Changes).

• The IT Windows Administrator will design, configure, coordinate, and participate in the installation of all IT Server infrastructure equipment (hosts, servers, storage, appliances, etc.).

• This position requires lifting and installation of server infrastructure equipment (hosts, servers, appliances, etc.) in the datacenters.

• Coordinate server upgrades adhering all change control requirements and communicate these changes to the business.

• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a professional manner.

• This position also requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum three years’ experience with Windows server administration.

• Experience with installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.

• Experience with networks including LAN/WAN, DNS/DHCP and wireless.

• Familiarity / experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter administration.

• Experience with troubleshooting systems, problem isolation and formulating solutions.

• Monitoring system performance and provide potential solutions to management.

• Windows print administration (including third party vendor utilities like PaperCut & SafeQ).

• Windows administration via PowerShell & command line scripting.

• Data backup & recovery via Commvault & Veeam

• Project management and planning skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Requirements: 

• Working knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.

• Working knowledge of security systems, CyberArk, Thycotic, McAfee, and Qualys.

• Windows-based virtualization via Hyper-V and Nutanix.

• Ability to create scripts in PowerShell and similar languages.

• Familiarity with backups (Veeam, Backup Exec, Commvault) and backup concepts for on premise and cloud systems.

• A good understanding for remote network concepts, proxy server and VPN systems.
