We are seeking a dynamic Public Transit Planning Leader for our West Region to be based in our Los Angeles office. This role is pivotal in driving sustainable multi-modal urban transportation solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of the policies, programs, plans, operations, and budgets that influence agency decisions, along with established relationships to effectively engage and serve our clients. Your transit portfolio will be developed based on your professional practice and Arup’s priorities, and may include public transit operations, long-range planning, facilities planning, policy, fleet electrification, and design.

The Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in transportation planning.
- Experience as a project manager and/or project director is required.
- Experience working in both consulting and public sector is highly desirable.
- Significant experience working with clients and strong relationships in the Northern and/or Southern California market. A candidate with an established profile in the Northern and/or Southern California market is preferred.
- Professional Certifications: PE, AICP, PTP, or similar, or be able to acquire the certification within a year of joining Arup.

- Winning and delivering work for target clients in Northern and/or Southern California including LA Metro, Metrolink, City of LA DOT, SCAG, SANDAG, San Diego MTS, Caltrans, California High-Speed Rail Authority, SFMTA, SFCTA, MTC, Caltrain, BART, SamTrans, AC Transit, SJ DOT, and SacRT.
- Supporting priority pursuits on major transportation and site development projects.
- Collaborating on work-winning and project creation in strategic areas of practice such as Resilience, Sustainability, Digital, and Energy/ZEVs.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is … to … per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
