Position requires availability Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as needed.
Position is based at 5000 Rogers Ave, Fort Smith, AR, however, Incumbent can be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK).
SUMMARY: The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Director is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, compliance and administration of all aspects of BSA compliance program, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA Patriot Act.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directs and oversees the BSA Risk Department for Arvest Bank and is the senior level liaison with applicable law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
- Transforms Arvest strategies into plans and goals for BSA for the next 12 months. Mobilizes the team(s), establishing the tactical plans, projects and objectives needed to accomplish these goals and ensuring their attainment, including but not limited to a thorough program for complying with federal BSA and underlying rules, guidelines and directives from applicable federal and state regulatory agencies.
- Accountable for decision making regarding BSA Risk, establishing the structure of the unit and its internal processes, defining and ensuring quality standards.
- Develops the financial and resource plans for the area(s); accountable for managing to established budgets, including reallocating funding as priorities shift.
- Proactively mentors and trains subordinates to continually improve services and support to carry out the mission of the BSA Risk department.
- Responsible for all performance-related activities, including preparing and delivering performance reviews and any disciplinary recommendations.
- Partners with and integrates across other areas of Arvest, resolving conflicts and managing competing priorities, to provide a complete and compliant solution.
- Attend and actively participate in management meetings, communication meetings and various peer meetings both within the bank group and within the industry.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 2 or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure direct reports have completed required compliance training and are adhering to all internal procedures and controls as it relates to bank policy, laws, regulations and Arvest’s BSA/AML Program. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides training, planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required.
- 8 years of relevant BSA/Compliance experience in progressively responsible positions required.
- 3 years of previous supervisory/management experience required.
- Expert level knowledge of BSA and related laws and regulations including AML, high risk accounts, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), USA Patriot Act and fraud.
- Very high level of knowledge of bank operations, leadership strategies, quality management, compliance; bank products and services, systems and technologies; bank structure, organization and complex account documentation required.
