In this role, you will also earn shift differentials (extra pay) for working any swing, night, and weekend hours:
- $0.92 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- $1.70 extra for working between 11:00pm and 7:00am
- $0.77 extra for working weekend hours
At Asante, the Francis Cheney Family Place in Medford offers affordable, temporary lodging for family members receiving care at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. This 8,000-square-foot facility offers community and privacy and features 15 guest rooms with private baths with two of the rooms accessible to guests with disabilities. Guest rooms are arranged in two clusters surrounding small lounges, which open to patios overlooking fenced, landscaped yards. Each lounge connects to the shared living room and dining room. Cheney Place accommodates a maximum of 30 people.
The Guest Housing Representative oversees the facility during scheduled shifts and shares responsibility for the safety and operation of the facility. This includes performing a variety of duties related to providing support for guests and their families including administrative/clerical tasks, housekeeping, and customer service . The Guest Housing Rep maintains a clean, caring, and supportive environment for guests, volunteers, and other staff members. Along with other guest housing staff, the Guest Housing Rep is accountable for stewardship of our mission to provide comfort, care and support to children and families while they are receiving treatment at Asante. The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, strong problem solving and emergency decision making abilities.
What You'll Do- Present guests with an effective orientation to enhance the quality of their stay. This includes clearly communicating the rules and receiving verbal and signed confirmation that the guest will abide within the rules; identifying the special needs of guests and assisting or directing to the appropriate provider when possible; guiding guests through a tour of the house; and entering guest information in the Raiser's Edge database on the computer.
- Provide guest support to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes greeting guests to make them feel at home; spending time visiting with guests in the common area; and having the ability to accept interrupted sleep time in a courteous, professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with Family House rules in a supportive way. This includes maintaining the confidentiality of guests and patient situations.
- Ensure the safety of all guests and staff of the Family House. This includes using Universal Precautions where applicable; and completing routine checks of the house to ensure that hazards are not present.
- Ensure the Family House housekeeping presentation is of the highest quality. This includes maintaining cleanliness and thorough sanitization of the guest rooms and common areas; reporting maintenance issues in a timely manner; and encouraging guests to participate in communal household chores.
- Previous customer service experience (preferably in hospitality or health care setting) is required.
- Must demonstrate good customer service skills, a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning to use hospitality databases.
- Must be organized and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Associate Degree in business or healthcare related field, preferred.
