Title: Quality Assurance Technician and Food Safety Quality Support
Reports to: CEO and Assigned Lead
Location: Oxnard, CA (on and off-site)
Role Overview:
We are looking for a full-time Quality Assurance Technician experienced in food manufacturing. This role is critical to our team’s success in establishing the best in class food safety programs. As a QA Technician, you will assist in ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality control including reliability, usability and performance.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring
- Monitor and administer sampling procedures for recording and reporting quality data, including swabbing and care of sterile sampling
- Monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality as directed by the supervisor
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly quality checks, SQF (GFSI), GMP Standards, and sanitation schedules with assistance from the Production Supervisor and Shipping and Receiving
- Observe habits and work of the production team and communicate feedback effectively
- Verify established quality assurance policies and procedures and suggest continuous improvements
- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients
- Report out globally about milestones, critical dates and upcoming targets
Documenting
- Assist in documenting internal audits and other quality assurance programs
- Collect and compile statistical quality data
- Contribute to the document management systems
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement
- Prepare QA reports
- Print customer-specific labels and perform label reconciliation and verifications
- Prepare HACCP/HARP-C Plans and execute monitoring and implementation with supervision.
Collaborating
- Develop, recommend and monitor preventative and corrective actions
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues; assist in corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate and support tasks and program building for team on-site audits
- Meet weekly with assigned supervisor and team to align on direction and communication
Qualifications:
- Quality monitoring and testing experience in food manufacturing, 1-2 years
- Good verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish (required)
- Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
- Swabbing and care of sterile sampling (required)
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
- Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
- Ability to manage personnel and work with Supervisors, team members and Directors on timelines, efficiencies within work hours and deadlines of all personnel
- Bachelor's degree
- Current HACCP and PCQI certified.
- GMP Standards
- GFSI Standards (preferred)
