TITLE: Certificated EMERGENCY Substitute Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor's Degree (transcripts will be required for employement).
- Experience working with children/teens (for example, volunteering in schools, coaching, teaching Sunday school).
Selected candidates will be required to attend a paid mandatory half day training prior to being activated as an On Call Emergency Certificated Substitute.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Remains in assigned classroom until all students have been dismissed for the day.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and surrounding areas.
- Reviews with principal or designee, all plans, duties and schedules to be followed during the teaching day, teaches the outlined lesson, maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
- Completes evaluation at the end of the day, checks out with authorized personnel prior to leaving at the end of the day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must obtain a valid Washington State Emergency Substitute Certificate.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
- Current student teachers may qualify for an Emergency Substitute Certificate without a Bachelor’s degree while in program for teacher preparation.
- Experience supervising children.
