What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Specialist position at Ascend Transport?
This role is on-site in Nashville, TN.
PURPOSE
To support and assist account managers through timely order entry, appointment scheduling, and load delivery tracking to ensure efficient on-time delivery.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Process and “work” all pending orders to goal. Customer Service Specialist
- Ensure loads are scheduled to velocity by calculating expected delivery time and adjusting to appropriate velocity standards.
- Proactively communicate with our internal and external customers.
- Ensure that all company location codes have been completed and accurate information (open hours, directions, and phone numbers).
- Maximize transit time through aggressive solicitation of appointment times.
- To cross-train with peers and account managers to provide flexible coverage options.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, Skills, and traits
- Effective use of written and oral communication.
- Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
- Ability to receive detailed customer load information by telephone, fax, or EDI.
- Ability to input all load information into the system accurately to ensure system integrity.
- Must be able to enter an average of 30 to 45 loads per day.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a collaborative team
- Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
- Able to promote a culture of trust and safety
Education, Certifications, & License Requirements
