We are looking to sub-contract a Quality Assurance Engineer for one of our client projects, working with ~4 developers

We have signed a new project with an existing client that recently kicked off. We will be running a six week strategy followed by approximately a year of software development, and will be looking for four developers and one QA Engineer to start between March 27 and April 3.

This client is embarking on a large, strategic modernization of their entire tax solution. We will be working with client teams, and this could be a multi-year project. Most of the client team members are located in the US on Central Time.

Ascendle will supply a Product Owner, ScrumMaster, and Architect.

In addition to doing software development using agile Scrum, our team will work closely with the client's developers, including embedding some of their developers into our agile Scrum team to better learn our Scrum process and technical approach.  We will need a full-time contract QA engineer to support this team of Ascendle and client developers with writing and executing manual acceptance tests.

Ascendle will supply a Product Owner (PO), ScrumMaster, and Architect.

Responsibilities:

Write test plans for features. Work with PO to determine all testing scenarios, both happy path and sad path. Perform manual acceptance testing of all features produced by the team. Participate in all Scrum ceremonies with the Scrum team: daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint review, backlog refinement.

Must have:

  • Experience with agile and Scrum
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills
  • Strong English writing skills
  • Experience with Gherkin style Given, When, Then format
  • 2-3 years' experience writing test cases and performing manual tests on various devices and browsers
  • Attention to detail
  • Inquisitive mindset, to ask a lot of questions about the feature and surface scenarios that no one has thought of
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools
  • Good internet connection and camera for sharing video during daily Scrum and other meetings

Nice to have:

  • Azure DevOps and Confluence
  • Postman
