Job Description
Ascendo is looking for a Accounting Manager to be an integral part of the finance team for a Jacksonville, FL based Management Company that supports affiliated companies in manufacturing, retail, and real estate industries. The role is responsible for providing accurate financial and statistical data for management to make timely data-based decisions concerning the financial performance of the businesses. This opportunity is for a career-focused individual with 5 years of experience in financial reporting with supervisory skills who wants to work for a growing industry leader that can offer an outstanding career opportunity!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages monthly accounting close cycle for assigned companies; prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end financial statements.
- Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports for distribution to internal management, banks, and other external parties.
- Coordinates cross-training of the accounting processes for all companies in the portfolio.
- Reviews and recommends improvements to internal controls and department procedure documentation.
- Coordinates and ensures timely completion of financial audits for three companies.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Understands and can explain warehouse management systems, bills of materials, and standard cost accounting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable with working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
