Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop, submit, and administer capital, operations and manpower budgets according to financial and organization guidelines.
- Develop, communicate and administer departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain procedural manuals for department staff.
- Work collaboratively with department leaders to ensure that safe, quality care is provided to the patients served.
- Assure department operations are in compliance with standards and other applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
- Participate as team member and leader in quality improvement activities related to medical staff and medical staff services, including process improvement, development of policies and procedures, and information exchange.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- One or more of the following:
- Midwife credentialed from the Texas Midwifery Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
- Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date. - Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Physician Assistant Board obtained prior to hire
date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following:
- Preferred Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
- Education appropriate for licensure held: Master's degree of Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice, Doctorate of Science in Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing Midwifery, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.
Work Experience:
- 5 years of experience required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
