Position: Phlebotomy Technician
Department: General Lab Anc 001
Location: St Vincent's St. Clair
Shift: Rotating hours as needed, can consistently work 2 days a week from 1100-1930 and one weekend a month
What You Will Do
Collect and process blood specimens for testing and perform multiple clerical and processing functions.
- May draw and collect blood samples according to policy. Receive, centrifuge, accession, process and transport specimens. Verify all related records.
- Work pending lists, orders add-on tests, and resolve duplicate orders.
- Set up instruments. Maintain, clean, and sterilize equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
- Perform clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, ABNs, data entry and filing.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
Preferred Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Phlebotomy Tech.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED Required
Work Experience:
- At least 1 year hospital experience preferred
