Registered Nurse RN Triage

• Department: Ascension Connect RN Triage and Physician Answering Service
• Schedule: 8 hour evenings, 2 pm - 10 pm weeknights, every other weekend and some holidays. 20 or 32 hour schedules available per week. 
• Location: WI - Remote

Provide patients with nursing support by telephone.

• This role requires excellent written, oral communication, listening skills and organizational skills. 
• Effectively communicates to all populations and clinical professionals over the phone.
• Must be able to navigate and document effectively in computer applications while speaking with callers.
• Proficiency in keyboarding skills with accuracy. 
• Strong technology skills are preferred. 
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team member.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient interactions.
• Prepare documentation information and transmit medical information.
• Provide non-judgmental triage and/or advice using the nursing process, specific protocols and established resources.
• Direct callers to appropriate level of care and provide healthcare advice/education using assessment skills, approved guidelines, and knowledge of self-care practices.
• Select and deliver appropriate follow-up materials.
• Provide professional, safe and effective care-related advice to patients

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
• BLS Provider preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

• Wisconsin or Compact RN License needed  
• Minimum 3 years RN experience an acute or ambulatory setting.
• Proficient in keyboarding skills with accuracy.  
• Strong technology skills
